Surgery
Well, had my second shoulder surgery of the year, right before Christmas.  The nerve block didnt take the best, so I have been in pain since I woke after the surgery.  I guess the surgeon didn’t sound like he thought this was the issue that was causing the pain (they took out my bursa cause they thought it was swollen and causing an inpingement (dont know if that is spelt right).  Lets all...

“In New York City, the Bowery Mission tossed away a batch of fried chicken...”
– A Bunch of Chickens - Daily Brickbats : Reason Magazine I do not understand this country anymore.  I really don’t. (via jeffmiller) I understand it perfectly. This is the sort of thing that happens when liberal Democrats get in power. The nanny state will ban trans fats and inadvertently...

savvymac: fuckyeahvoldemort: Trailer for Deathly Hallows (Part One). I know they’re going to screw this movie up, I just know it but that didn’t keep me from tearing up when I saw this. Deathly Hallows is one of my favorite books of all time, and to see certain seems, even for a second, come to life? Wow. I know, I’m a huge Potter geek; but I’m not sorry for it. :)  O.o  I am excited!

Natalie Portman to slay zombies
savvymac: skysignal: Actress takes on ‘Pride & Prejudice and Zombies’ adaptation By MICHAEL FLEMING Given Natalie Portman’s elegant demeanor, a turn in a period Jane Austen adaptation was inevitable. Portman will star in and produce “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies,” a film that is based on the bestselling book written by Seth Grahame-Smith and Austen. Lionsgate will finance and...

Much Of Upper Midwest Gets Slammed With Snow: 15... →
Yeah, for the first actual snow storm of the year, we got dumped on.  In my area, I believe we got just over 10 inches.  All the schools in this area (including both colleges) were closed yesterday.  That rarely happens.  Places of business were shut down yesterday, including mine :)  It was nice having an extra vacation day :)

Hollywood's depressing movies are, you guessed it,...
savvymac: randyhaddock: Newsweek never fails to deliver some great humor: You can blame Hollywood’s doom and gloom on the Oscars, but I’m not going to. Instead, I think it’s George W. Bush’s fault. Most liberal directors felt restless under his presidency, and they pushed the envelope with over-the-top, operatic tragedies. Something even funnier? This is not a satirical piece. Newsweek’s...

hilker: see this is what happens when you play so much golf: you start repeating speeches you gave months ago, with no recollection of how badly they turned out.  Way to go Obama…  Put us farther into debt so our grandkids and great grandkids can never see the light at the end of the tunnel.  How is this going to help?  What are you thinking?

NYC Terror Trials Protest at Foley Square...
randyhaddock: I got back from Foley Square about an hour and a half ago and I am still feeling the cold. It is an absolutely miserable day in NYC. It’s the coldest day of the season so far and it’s raining. I’m surprised anyone showed up with this weather but the turnout was unexpectedly large and the crowd very enthusiastic. It’s safe to say the outrage many New Yorkers are feeling over Eric...
